PROJECT MANAGER RECRUITMENT 2024
Ella Tighe with Spin Arts are Looking for a North based (ideally West Yorkshire) project manager to join the Disco Queen team as it goes into creation for 2025.
This contract is a remote, freelance contract and candidates need their own laptop/equipment to fulfill the requirements of the role. Candidates will be responsible for their own NI and Tax.
About the Show
Disco Queen is a dance-theatre show inspired by the full throttle world of competitive Disco Freestyle dancing. The show tells the story of Ella’s experience of growing up as a competitive dancer, drawing upon her personal experiences. The show challenges the negative perceptions and stereotypes of Freestyle dancers and advocates for the talent, resilience and skill of young Freestyle dancers.
The show features interviews and visuals from current young Freestyle dancers.
The show will feature a curtain raiser with local Bradford Freestyle dancers.

About the Project Manager Role
You will work alongside lead artist Ella and her producer Sarah Shead, Spin Arts to ensure the organisation of the overall project. You will support Ella with day to day logistics, administration and communications.
Person Specification
Experience in producing and managing a range of creative and outreach projects at local and national level.
Interest or experience in working with underrepresented dance communities like Disco Freestyle dance.
Knowledge/experience of Freestyle dance.
Available from September to April 2025.
Can be responsible to work remotely and progress the needs of the project management independently
Proactive attitude and approach to working on projects and making things happen
Role Specification
Contract artists, collaborators & community outreach partners.
Take on communication with local community outreach partners (Disco Freestyle schools)
Organise PRS/music licensing for the show
Confirm and coordinate workshops, performances in collaboration with our community partners
Serve as the main point of contact for Ella and our project partners
Can manage a budget alongside lead artist and producer, when required in relation to the PM role tasks only
Implement data capturing and create a database ready for evaluating the project
Respond to any unforeseen tasks that might arise as the project unfolds
Liasing with partners/venues for preview/premiere if necessary
Form part of small collaborative team
Location
The role will be mainly remote with the expectation that the candidate will be able to work independently and remotely, with regular zoom meetings/phone calls. There may be the opportunity to work in person if the candidate is local (Bradford/Leeds). If you are required to work away from home expenses will be covered.

Dates
Ella will be in creation phase of the show from September 24 - the premiere in Bradford in April 2025. The curtain raiser sessions with Freestyle dance community will happen between January - April 25.

Fee
9 days to span across the project @ £150 per day = £1350
